STUDY GROUPS Violet and Wendy will share their experiences in participating in a small zoom study group that has met for the past two years. They will share lots of examples of their calligraphic works.

A study in layout and design elements for calligraphers and lettering artists. In this class, Valerie will expand on the Elements of Design covered in the April presentation. We will learn new and creative ways to layout ur calligraphy and lettering pieces.

She will take us through an exploration of the Elements of Design and find ways to understand and apply them to your calligraphy journey. Our Program Committee will lead us on an exploration of Decorated Capitals. We will then have time to try out some of the ideas presented.
POINTED PEN UNCIALS with
BARBARA CLOSE
Barbara is an internationally known calligrapher/artist who teaches in southern California, across the USA and Canada. She thoroughly loves teaching and sharing with students. She also teaches on-line global classes and loves the idea of reaching so many people. Her work includes a wide variety of lettering styles and mixed media applications. Her work is exhibited across the country and is included in many private collections. It has a creative passion while showing the exhilaration of discovery in playful experimentations; skilfully executed. She has taught at several International Lettering and IAMPETH conferences; designed the logo for Somerset Studio Magazine; designed The Calligraphy Collection font cartridge for Cricut; and designed several greeting cards for Marcel Schurman, now Papyrus.
Follow Your Heart is a philosophy that shows in her work, and continues with growth, heart and inspiration.
THE ENCHANTED LETTER with
HEATHER HELD
Enchanted Letters are rooted in Medieval and Renaissance manuscripts, but have a distinct Victorian flair. These flourished script letters are embellished with florals and foliate accents and can be combined with calligraphic script lettering. The designs are based on my work in offhand flourishing, floral design and Victorian needlework. I hope you become Enchanted with these graceful letters.
