Cards

At our Christmas Social our Society tradition is for many of us to exchange Christmas cards. The Trivial Pursuit Group (a smaller group) has hosted our party for the last several years. They made cloth card bags for all the members which makes distributing the cards easier. Every year we are amazed at the wonderful cards our members make. Some are primarily calligraphic and others illustrate our members other talents and interests, e.g. photography, stamping, collage, watercolour. Below are some of the cards our members produced in 2010. Only the lettering on the inside of the card is shown , as all personal greetings have been removed.

Our Corresponding Secretary sends out Thank You, Sympathy, Get Well, Congratulations and Thinking of You cards on our behalf. At our September 2008 meeting we made cards for her to use. Most of the cards were made using Strathmore Watercolour Cards (with a green deckle edge) which was our paper sample for the month and were made at the meeting. Some members brought embellishments, etc. with them to add to their cards. Birthday cards were excluded from this activity.
